Imediat se termina si luna ianuarie si am ajuns cu greu sa-mi adun ideile legate de anul trecut. Concursuri, plimbari, antrenamente si alte iesiri cu bicicleta, si multe vizite in Cluj, cam asta s-a intamplat.    Ultimul concurs din an pentru mine a fost cel din Cluj, si anume ultima etapa din Cupa Clujul Pedaleaza. Daca ar trebui sa scriu un motto cu care m-am pregatit pentru concurs, ar fii "sa trec pe partea intunecata a fortei", adica sa pedalez noaptea, pentru ca si concursul a fost unul nocturn. Ajuns sambata dupa masa cu trenul meu "personal", am avut prilejul sa-mi vad o parte din familie.

Dupa o saptamana, am ajuns sa relatez despre acest eveniment foarte reusit. Am plecat din Oradea cam nepregatit dar totusi cu sperante mari, traseul il cunosteam de anul trecut, in afara de mica schimbare dupa ultimul PC. Anul asta a fost unul cu noroc, in ceea ce priveste evenimentele sportive din Oradea si Bihor. Un concurs de Cross Country Olimpic, unul de Ironbike, unul de Ironman si nu in ultimul rand si de Maraton. Editia asta a fost doar de semimaraton si un traseu popular. M-am cam pregatit prea putin pentru un semimaraton, asa ca anul asta am decis sa alerg la cursa populara, adica un tur de 4,2 km.

M-am gandit sa ma uit printre pozele mele din trecut, mai precis la cele facute la maratonul Maros. Din pura nostalgie m-am asezat si mi-am adus aminte de primul meu concurs de ciclism montan. Iată ca a trecut inca un weekend aglomerat cu noroc. Sambata(16.07.2011) am fost la Hunedoara impreuna cu colegii mei de echipa. Sambata aceasta am participat la Maratonul Medieval Medias, editia a 7-a, unde toata saptamana a plouat inainte de concurs. Am pornit vineri catre Cluj, iar de acolo cu ajutorul lui Levi de la „Clujul Pedaleaza” ne-am dus cu masina pana la Medias. Am fost cazat impreuna cu echipa clujeana Maros Sport, multumita lui Levi. I've started to prepare myself  for the upcoming season. Last weekend was just perfect: Oradea's basketball team won in a tight game on saturday, it was nice to cheer for them. Than Sunday i went together with some Velosport riders on a trip to Padis. But if i think a  bit more, my nephew was born in September, some of my best friends also, the weather is warm enough to wear short pants, to stay out in the nature all day long without being fried, and the color of the forests is the best in autumn.

         I took a day off from work to prepare myself for the road and race at Medias. 3 p.m. we left  Oradea with a friend (Joco) of mine who took me almost to Cluj. After he left me 40 km before Cluj i stood on the road with my luggage and hoped to stop a car who will take me to Cluj. Well after 20 minutes waiting a minibus took me safely to Cluj. I met my sister and nephew and my mother also.

This weekend took place the first Extreme-Triathlon race in Romania. It had to happen in Oradea. 3800 m swimming, 180km cycling and 42 running. Well i didn't participated, i was just a simple spectator,... lucky me. Yesterday i took a day off from my job to go practice with my Kona Coilair. My friend Andras came along to show me whats right and wrong with my pedaling. We went to "Crater Mountain" near the city the best place here if you want to practice DH or XC, i mean best place near the city. After the IBO race last weekend this was an iron to. Actually it was a water-mud-mtb-adventure. I signed for the 40 km track... for my luck after, i heard what happened with those on the long track. I'm workin on the bike, doing some preparations for the big race, i had some problem with the brakes, the rear wheel, and the rear derailleur also had some problems. The package for the race will contain some clothes, windstopper jersey, a pair of socks, shorts, tools, energy bars and some other stuff to. Maybe i'm too optimistic about finishing the race. I'm over it, and i'm safe. For my second XCO race, thats not to bad. I came 16th in my category(Amateur 19-29) and for that i got 10 RGP(Romanian Grand-Prix) points.  After exploring the track on Saturday, i didn't had any hopes to finish the race in one peace, but i made it. Here's a local race. A 270 km long distance and a time limit of 22 hours. Pretty heavy for one day, so gonna prepair myself for it. Two riders will make a team, i will start with an old friend of mine, Peter, a long distance specialist. Hope to survive:D Till then Maros XCO at Cluj and todays Critical Mass demonstration.

Saturday i had a trip to Cluj. I took my bike hoping that i can test the XCO track. Well... Saturday just wasn't that day. Rain all day long, wet wet and wet it was, so Ely called it off. It was time to take a real feel ride with my Kona. So, me and some rider friends took a small journey near the city, at "Crater". To be short, well Kona did a great job with the Magic Link, though the bike is not for XC, its a bit heavy for that. Muddy trails are fun, just try not to smile. Riding is fun, freeridin is awesome.

It was time to get some wounds this year. Well got it. Went with my Kona Coilar a bit freeridin' , jumped down some stairs and miscalculated the length. The result: about 2 major wounds and a few more scratches. Pictures will come!

After cross country, freeridin' its very unusual. Without spds, well what can i say? The bike is awesome, heavy though but awesome. Full suspension gave me a fat smile while riding the bike down hills near the city. Hey, its better than a hard-tail bike, but when it comes to climbing, you're in deep shoot :). Although this Kona Coilair has the Magic Link system, it isn't that efficient. Maybe
